This presentation discusses California's State Family Biliteracy Program (FBP) and encourages other states to replicate the biliteracy program in their areas. The FBP is designed for pre-school aged children and their families as they prepare the child to enter kindergarten. The PFB allows parents to value literacy in the home and school languages and for students to value biliteracy as a relevant skill. This presentation includes a breakdown of the 10-session program design, an overview of the CDE's FBP handbook, and a hands-on activity.
