Audience: All roles except Viewers

The “Every Student Succeeds Act” (ESSA1), which passed in December 2015, introduced the current definition of Priority for Services (PFS), as follows:

(d) PRIORITY FOR SERVICES. —In providing services with funds received under this part, each recipient of such funds shall give priority to migratory children who have made a qualifying move within the previous 1-year period and who—

(1) are failing, or most at risk of failing, to meet the challenging State academic standards; or

(2) have dropped out of school.

This article describes the PFS Report, which can be run by region, district, and/or school. The results displayed on the screen include school name; individual student information (e.g., MSD Number, SSID, Name, Grade, and QAD); state assessment results (e.g., CAASPP ELA, CAASPP Math, CELDT, and ELPAC); and PFS-related indicators (i.e., Mobility, Academic Risk, Dropout, and PFS).
